ELKLAN COURSES

SCHOOL STAFF 

ComIT (Communication Intervention Team) offers Elklan courses for school staff of children with speech, language and communication Needs.

You can study any core course and then go on to complete one of the specialist courses to develop your skills in a specific area.

Cost:  £125 (to cover materials and accreditation fees)

All of the courses listed above run for 10 sessions (two hours per week)  and are accredited at Open College Network. In addition, portfolio home tasks must be completed each week on work covered in the session.

Specialist courses

Learners must have completed a core course before attending a specialist course.

  • Supporting Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Supporting Children with Unclear speech

When we have enough participants interested in a course, in a similar location, we will organise a venue and run a course to meet requests.

 

 

ELKLAN FOR PARENTS

Lets talk

ComIT (Communication Intervention Team) offer Elklan courses for parents of children with speech, language and communication needs.

Course options are:

Each course will consist of seven weekly sessions of approximately two-and-a-half hours.

Qualified speech and language therapists and advisory teachers deliver the course.  You will receive basic information, knowledge, skills and strategies on speech, language and communication.  You will also have opportunities to meet other parents and receive mutual support.

You will be required to purchase a course manual, at a cost £25. An OCN accreditation option is also available.
